Changtai 2005 "Chen Hong Chang Yiwu" Raw Puerh
[Cakes temporarily sold out]
Mid-2000s era Changtais are a dime a dozen with many lackluster examples due to excessively wet/unclean storage or over-oxidized leaf. This is one we have tried and have confidence to provide.
Soft, burnished honey and mild citrus freshness on the finish. Rounded and thick texture, lubricating down the throat as long as not pushed too hard. The aroma is pure barnyard funk laced with caramel, the qi is quiet and centering. A classic example of clean Guangdong-aged Yiwu, if you like some Taiwanese-produced and aged Yiwus of this era (i.e. mild and aromatic), you may consider trying this.
If you are not familiar with these teas, we recommend trying a sample before committing to a cake.
