2016 Bing Dao (Di Jie) Big Trees Ripe Puerh
FatBat Private Pressing Ripe Puerh
冰岛(地界) 大树 普洱熟茶
Finally, after much behind-the-scenes work, we have found a premium ripe puerh that we are confident to offer under our own FatBat line.
This tea was created with early Spring material, picked from big trees in the Di Jie (地界) village, one of the 5 "greater Bingdao region" villages (冰岛五寨).
This tea started as high quality raw puerh material, which was then lightly fermented in small piles (micro-batch), on raised platforms for consistent airflow, using spring water. The result is a rich, syrupy ripe puerh that delivers an interesting evolution through the session and a comforting body feel.
Sticky beany sweetness coating the back of the throat, accompanied by an aroma of roasted hazelnuts, aged agarwood. Very low tannin and near zero astringency, with a thick "double-boiled red bean soup" quality that is prized by old-school connoisseurs of aged ripe teas.
Already with 8 years of maturation in professional warehouse conditions in Xishuangbanna, this tea will continue developing in smoothness and complexity with age.
Note: this tea is pressed as 357g cakes, in bamboo tongs of 7.
