[This is a pre-order for 2026 Dragon Well Long Jing green tea. To ensure absolute freshness, we will only make as much as is pre-ordered and will ship in mid-April]

As the spring approaches, we long for the rich fresh nutty flavor of Dragon Well (Long Jing) green tea from Hangzhou. We have sourced Dragonwell/ Long Jing from two core micro regions within Hangzhou, both are Pre-ming Spring pickings of 2026.

    • Westlake Long Jing: top grade Long Jing from Long Wu village in the premier core Westlake area of Hangzhou. These gardens produce tea which has a perfect balance between delicate elegance and rich aromatics. Buttery, floral and mineral notes in a creamy base. This tea showcases why Westlake terroir is so prized.  250g orders of westlake Long Jing will be wrapped in traditional brown-paper packaging with the official Westlake Geographical Indication code sticker.

    • Hangzhou Long Jing: Our first grade Long Jing is from the Fu Yang region in Hangzhou, to the southwest of Westlake. This is also considered a true Hangzhou Long Jing growing area. This tea has a slightly more robust and nuttier flavor than the Westlake teas, a profile that is recognized by many Hangzhou locals as the representative old-school taste. A superb value Long Jing.

    Geographical Information:

    * Dragon Well (Long Jing) green tea refers to tea that are produced in three regions: Westlake of Hang Zhou, Qian Tang of Hang Zhou, and Yue Zhou of Zhejiang. The flavor profile of those regions are different. Hangzhou is considered the original source of Long Jing (with the core Westlake region as the most premium due to its terroir and native tree varietals).

Where Our Long Jing comes from

    • Westlake Region: Long Wu district of Hang Zhou (in Westlake region as seen in map). Long Wu is one of the 5 core micro regions in Westlake. For this curation, we work with our trusted farmer Lin, for her family's high quality traditional processing techniques, that showcase the core region terroir well. Her fresh spring Long Jing is aromatic, elegant and rich.

    • Hangzhou Region: Fuyang district of Hangzhou (in Qiantang region as seen in the map), known for its scenic beauty along Fuchun River (painting Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains depicted this area). For the local Longjing drinkers, they love the traditional Hangzhou Longjing taste from this district. Fuyang is famous for preserving the traditional processing method. The tea is robust and nutty.

    Long Jing Tree Varietals 101

    • Original Longjing varietal: 43 and Quntizhong (we source No. 43 tree varietal planted in 1980s).
    • Other transplant varietals: Zhejiang varietal, Sichuan varietal, Guizhou varietal (not true Hangzhou varietals)
