Tulin factory are one of the masters of classic Shou puerh production and this is one of their most outstanding recipes. The light fermentation allows the base character of the material to shine through and promises to develop in complexity and depth with age.
The first thing that hits is the aroma of the leaf -- chocolate, pressed dried flowers and toast. Simply delicious. There is zero hint of wet pile taste. First few steeps are all baked rye bread, malty dark chocolate with a rounded base of herbal roots and leather. Citrus and dried fruit notes enter on later steeps. Ultra clean and supremely drinkable.
Note: some tuos may exhibit a white coloration on its top, with the wrapper looking faded at that section. This is commonly seen on this tea and is a result of the paper wrapper being rubbed between the tea cake and the cardboard box during packing and transportation, leaving a mark on the tea.
