ABOUT THE TEAPOT The teapot featured here is designed with appealing lean form. Modern, functional and magnificent. Like a dark red meteor stone with leathery skin. It is made by Wu Hong Fang, whounderstands zisha clay like a bird plays with the wind.
We first met Wu in her studio 3 years ago, amazed by how she works wonders with her signature purple clay, Di Cao Qing and Tian Qing Ni, each piece retaining the glazed iron color and stone-textured finish. After talking about her work for 2 days with excitement, we went back and started the partnership.
This piece is a modern interpretation of a classic Qing-era shape, streamlined yet retaining the distinctive "cannon" spout.
Clay is Di Cao Qing Ni from mine No. 4 in Huanglong Shan. A patina of deep burgundy will be developed after a period of usage.
