Xiaguan 2014 "T8653 Iron Cake" Raw Puerh

This is the classic Xiaguan blend, formulated in 1986 using an average of Grade 5 leaves, in iron cake format. Clean Kunming storage as we like it, no musty wet-storage notes. The harshest edges have been smoothed but there's a long way to go. We are listing these as we get many requests for traditional Xiaguan aged tea and this is one of the few that meets our standards.

For now, brew gently and you will get a very drinkable, reinvigorating brew with complex notes of pine, root herbs and pleasant smoke, with a decent huigan. Classic representative Xiaguan taste. These will age much faster in most moderate environments so we recommend buying a few cakes to age yourself if you like this profile. Please note that these tongs are paper-wrapped and sometimes get significantly wrinkled or even develop minor tears during the movement of shipping. This only affects the brown paper and not the individual cakes. We will do our best but if this bothers you, consider ordering single cakes instead.
