Xiaguan 2021 "Dan Ba Ge Lie" Mushroom Tuo Raw Puerh

This new Tibetan-themed Xiaguan production has been garnering significant attention in the Chinese tea circles. Quite firmly in Xiaguan's new style, this is high quality and smoke-free.

Lovely fabric bag and wrapper aside, the mushroom is flawlessly pressed, fragrant but with a tinge of bitter raw greenness that will age into a classic Bulang bittersweet core. Leaf material is from arborous trees in the Bulang region (not Lincang as some English websites claim), collected over several years.

TASTE PROFILE

The immediate impression is a grassy aromatic sweetness with a resinous, sappy finish. Despite first steeps being sweet and light, its Bulang origin becomes evident with bitterness and the characteristic pungent barnyard aroma creeping in on later steeps. Huigan is quick and strong, qi is energizing. 

Pack of 3 tuos comes with a bamboo wrapper and the lovely fabric drawstring pouch (we have not got the outer paper bag from the supplier, if we get it later we will include it).
