Xiaguan 2019 "Xiao Hu Sai Gushu" Raw Puerh

A nicely produced Lincang single-origin sheng from Xiaguan, part of their new premium line. Distinct cane sugar and honey sweetness, with a leafy and fresh uplifting aroma. As if to prove the pedigree of the resilient arbor material used, thickness of soup increases mid-session, alongside a lovely pear juiciness. Pleasant, uplifting qi.

Excellent material and solid processing as we're seeing with Xiaguan's recent range. While brand name “gushu”-labeled productions will never match the purity of small batch pressings, we feel Xiaguan have come to par with the other big Chinese producers (CNNP, Liming, Mengku Rongshi etc.) in both single-terroir and super-premium blends.
